Our management team has amassed more than 100 years of business experience. During that time, we have raised significant early-stage business funding, private-equity venture capital and project finance for numerous property and business ventures.
We pride ourselves on being conscientious and fair-minded throughout. Today, as a small company of just four individuals, we remain eager to impress our clients and deliver exceptional service.

2018 was a particularly memorable year for me. As well as starting Select & Build, I married my wife Fernanda. We had an unforgettable time celebrating with friends and family. Today, family is a huge part of our lives and we spend as much time with them as work allows.
I started out at Cubitt & West, the prominent Brighton estate agency.
After working in all 10 of its offices – and spells in west London and Dubai – I ended up running its flagship branch in the centre of town. That’s where I was head-hunted to buy property for a national company funded by FTSE 250 firm Close Brothers.
I then spent a decade working with innovative private companies from around the world to raise early-stage seed funding and project finance. In that time, I helped raise and place more than £50 million.
Now I want to make the most of my knowledge of property and finance background and my intimate knowledge of property and land in and around Brighton.
2018 was a big year for me too but for slightly different reasons.
A hip replacement finally forced me to retire from master’s football. But I’m still watching a lot of sport, going to the theatre - and skiing.
I have worked for many large financial institutions on both sides of the Atlantic, including 3i, before starting my own small private-equity firm.
After investing in the duty-free retail sector, I became MD of Harding Retail, which operates on some of the world’s most luxurious cruise lines.
This business went from $10 million in sales to $200 million before we sold to Flemingo International.
Today I am an investor, chairman and mentor with a keen interest in the property sector. I’m part of a small partnership that owns five properties in London and Reading, and am also helping to build a portfolio in San Francisco.
Working with Damian is an opportunity to do what I enjoy doing and add value somewhere else.
